Our experiences
Three ways to cook with us in Scala
Each experience is built around a single focus — pasta, pizza, or a full Italian meal — so you spend less time watching and more time with your hands in the dough.
Hands-on pasta
Pasta Fresca

Beginner-friendly
We'll start in the garden — walking through the orto together, picking what you'll cook with.
Then you move to the kitchen and work the dough by hand: ravioli, gnocchi, scialatielli, each with its own sauce.

Then it's dough from scratch — you stretch it by hand and take turns baking in the oven, one pizza at a time.

A real local experience
What makes Madreterra different
You won't find a lecture hall or a tourist itinerary. Just a real kitchen, real ingredients, and two friends who've spent years cooking professionally - and this is genuinely how we do it.

We know the difference between cooking for a service and cooking for people. A meal cooked together always tastes better.

Small groups only
Every session hosts a maximum of 10 guests. No crowded counters, no waiting for your turn. You're part of the table from minute 1.

away from the crowds
Scala is the oldest town on the Amalfi Coast - sitting above Positano and Amalfi.
The experience feels local because it is.
Where you will be
our location in the amalfi coast
Most people on the Amalfi Coast are down on the waterfront. We're up in the hills, in a village that's been here for centuries.
Up here it's quiet, unhurried, and genuinely local.
